Population Growth

The population growth indicator represents the year-over-year per cent change in Edmonton’s estimated population. The City of Edmonton monitors the rate of population growth and the components of population change; they are useful indicators for planning purposes, and to gauge potential demand for City-provided services and City-run programs.

Edmonton’s population as of July 1, 2022 was estimated to have grown 2.86 per cent year-over-year to 1,087,803.
